Ally is a recent graduate from UW-Madison with a master’s from the Atmospheric and Oceanic Science department. Her research with Dr. Dan Vimont focused on atmospheric-oceanic interactions and large-scale climate, more specifically, the El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO). With Dr. Steve Vavrus, she is continuing her ENSO focus in studying its connection to snowfall in Wisconsin.
She is from the Bay Area of California, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics from UC Davis. After her undergrad work, Ally interned at NASA Langley for a year with the SAGE III/ISS team. She has two birds: Roki and Elvis!
