Divisional Palmer Drought Severity Index

View the annual average Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) from 1895 to the present day for Wisconsin’s nine climate divisions.

The data used in these plots are from NOAA’s monthly U.S. climate divisional database (NClimDiv). The Palmer Drought Severity Index uses precipitation and temperature data to estimate dryness or wetness. Lower numbers indicate drier conditions; higher numbers indicate wetter conditions.
